Tenrikyo is a religion based on God the Parent’s revelation that aims at the realisation of the Joyous Life.
God the Parent became openly revealed in this world on 26th October 1838, taking Oyasama as the Shrine, and taught the path to the Joyous Life. In other words, we are taught that God the Parent created us human beings and the world to see us live the Joyous life and, thus, to share in that joy. Therefore, the goal of humankind in this world is to live the Joyous Life.
We are also taught that God and human beings are truly Parent and children, and, therefore, people throughout the world are all true brothers and sisters. In this regard, the world of the Joyous Life so desired by God the Parent will be realised when all human beings awaken to the truth that all people are brothers and sisters and come to help one another through God the Parent’s guidance.
