TOC 4th Friendship Baseball Game Splendidly Held!

On 8th June, the Queen’s Birthday holiday, the TOC 4th Friendship Baseball Game was splendidly held at a park in Calamvale, located five-minutes walking distance from the Centre, with the blessing of perfectly fine weather.

This event, which aims at expressing our gratitude for the health of our body, a thing lent by God the Parent, and also deepening the friendship among followers, started four years ago. This time 38 people including followers, their families and friends in Brisbane gathered for this event on that day and had a very enjoyable time together.

Assembling at 10:00 a.m., they first warmed up by playing catch and then practiced batting and fielding for about one hour. Thereafter, they were divided into two teams, each of which was mixed men and women as well as children. The game was really livened up and all of the participants fully enjoyed playing baseball in a wonderful and friendly atmosphere.

After the game, they moved to the Centre where they did enjoy a BBQ lunch together and deepened their friendship further.

First Practice Session for Women’s Musical Instruments Held at TOC

The Oceania Centre held a practice session for women’s musical instruments for the service for the first time from 2:00 p.m. on 28th June in which 20 women participated. The session was held for the purpose of providing the Women’s Association members, who had attended the 100th Anniversary Pep Rally for them which was conducted in the morning of the same day, with an opportunity to learn the women’s musical instruments: Koto, Shamisen and Kokyu. The session was instructed by Mrs. Aiko Chatani who had been sent from Women’s Association Headquarters.

Briefly explaining the basic attitude when you took the instruments, Mrs. Chatani emphasised how important it was for those who played the instruments to make efforts to purify and unite their minds as one. Thereafter, she politely instructed how to deal with and play the instruments one by one, which made the participants realise how wonderful the women’s instruments were, and shared a precious time together.
