Lecture for Mothers in Auckland

Lecture for Mothers in Auckland

On 30th August,, "Lecture for Mothers in Auckland" was held at Tenrikyo Tasman Fellowship (head: Mr Hideki Nishioka) for the first time, inviting Mrs Atsuko Adachi, wife of the Oceania Centreユs head, as a lecturer.

The lecture was planned and held by Mr & Mrs Nishioka as well as other devout Yoboku living in Auckland who wanted their friends to make good use of the lecture to solve their worries and problems in child-raising or the marital relationship, and who wanted them to know the teachings of Tenrikyo even a little. The lecture started from 1:30 p. m. and was attended by 16 mothers including three followers who listened attentively to the talk about what the role of mothers is, how to raise children, how to settle the mind as husband and wife, etc. based on the teachings of Tenrikyo. Some among them listened to the lecture taking a note with keen interest.

After the talk, the participants enjoyed talking over afternoon tea together with the lecturer in a relaxed atmosphere where they consulted with the lecturer about their personal worries. Some of the participants expressed their impression of the lecture by saying, "I enjoyed listening to the very instructive talk", "I would like to make good use of it for my future child-raising".

After finishing the lecture successfully, Mr Nishioka, head of the fellowship, made some comments in high spirits as follows: "Although most of the participants are non-Tenrikyo followers, I think that it was a great opportunity to let them know about Tenrikyo. We would like to make further efforts towards the next milestone taking this lecture as our new start".

We would like to hold the lecture for mothers in other districts in response to requests.
